bring your ideas to life.

We are a creative pattern development and consultancy business for start ups, small businesses, and well established larger companies.

Ammica aims to help build your brand customer loyalty by helping you deliver beautiful well fitting garments from the get go.

We are three female creatives who have combined our knowledge and resources to work in a more creative, flexible and modern way.

Between us we have extensive knowledge of supplying branded ladieswear through commercial manufacturing. Based in London and Italy, we use Gerber pattern making technology so your patterns can be sent to any location around the world.

Due to our evolving industry and the changing face of our High Street, we feel there is a need in the market for first patterns to bridge the gap between the brand and overseas manufacturing. The basic foundations for any garment retailer/manufacturer, large or small, is good fitting garments and between our team we have specialist tailoring and soft pattern cutting skills. We believe that larger, overseas manufacturers can use our knowledge to help understand core sizing and fit specifically for their U.K retail customers. Our aim is to build relationships with new start ups and emerging brands that maybe do not have the need for a full time pattern cutter or have a library of good fit blocks.

  • Bespoke first patterns to clients measurements or specific look.

  • A detailed technical sheet to show sketch and construction detail.

  • A base size specification for your pattern (not garment).

  • We can discuss pattern amendments due to your fit process if the need arises.

  • The aim is to offer graded patterns once fully established.

Amanda –

Having worked for 34 years in Fashion, supplying both store groups and branded product, I have a wide experience of dealing with customers and the fashion processes.
My background is factories, production, product development and fits.  Sadly with many UK manufacturers having now closed,  it's inevitable that we all need to personally evolve with our industry and find new ways of working.
More product is being bought direct from overseas suppliers, which creates different issues for our buying teams.
I have extensive experience with working both direct with factories and customers to solve garment issues in both fit stages and the production stages. That comes after many years of seeing garments develop from product ideas to garments hanging in store.

Working from my Essex garden Studio, I am a creative pattern cutter with nearly 40 years experience.

After studying tailoring at LCF, I went on to workwith designers such as Zandra Rhodes on custom made styles for private clients, moving onto high end, high street fashion houses such as LK Bennett, Boden, Phase Eight and Hobbs. Specializing in tailoring and fit, I have extensive knowledge of size and shape of the female form across different demographics. Always working closely with factories and customers, interpreting design, solving fit and production issues to achieve the perfect style with minimal samples and fittings.

The effect clothes can have on people and the self confidence that you can feel when you wear something special is what drew me to work in the fashion industry. After achieving my degree in Fashion design from DMU, I went on to study Pattern Cutting in more depth at Central Saint Martins. 8 years later, I have now been working as a Pattern Cutter for everything from high street suppliers to designers and small boutique brands. Starting as a manual pattern cutter and then developing into a digital pattern cutter, I ensure my work does not lose the creative craftmanship that came with working by hand. Working mostly in softs such as dresses, jumpsuits, tops and trousers,

I pride myself on always pushing for the perfect fit, problem solving, and creating clear constructions for even the most abstract garments to be as easy to follow as possible.
